The Super Bowl is over...oh well....

So I'm sitting there all day with my wife Karen, and were alternating Joshie between us, him in his cute Eagles Onesie and us in our Mcnabb jerseys watching as the dreaded Patriots win another Super Bowl over a Team we really care about (prevously against the Rams, really couldn't care for the Panthers), and now it's over. The right man was awarded MVP this year, unlike in that Rams/Pats Superbowl wehere it was SOOOOOOOOOOO clear that the MVP was on the Pats Defense and not at all in the QB's hands, I imagined all the great Super Bowl MVP QB's looking at their hardware and seeing it suddenly devalue before their very eyes, when that trophy was handed to the Pat QB. This year however they did vote for the right guy, the one player who outshined all.

Special props should go to T.O. for an amazing performance that should silence so many who yell at him for "Showboating" and being just plain good, for the bravery he showed harkens back to the Ram's Youngblood playingwith a broken ankle in another losing effort in a Super Bowl oh so many years ago against the far superior Steelers, just amazing courage and determination and respect that he earned each and ever play he was in for.

And so it's over, and once again the Pats are the champs, and once again lke against the Rams, the Pats didn't really win, they just did not lose like the Rams did and like the Eagles did....poor clock managment, poor defence and poor offensive line, these are the reasons the Eagles lost. Just like in the game against the Rams, the Pats did not "WOW" me or anyone, they played steady, caused some mistakes, but were far from impressive. (yes, they actually did beat the way inferior Panthers inbetween, but was that really a surprise???) I am trying to remain as objective as possible here, and truly the Pats should count theselves as lucky, not blessed with 3 victories, and lets see what happens next season with a new Offensive and Defensive coordinators coming in to New England, lets see if the luck wears off. And what's in store for the Eagles next year, probably another trip to the Superbowl, this time without the camcorders, this time with a growl and gruff workman's attitude...time will tell.....

All in all it was a hell of a year for NewEngland with the true champs...the Red Sox and the lucky bastards the Pats winning world titles...enjoy, the fans do deserve it.
